Grande Greve

Following the recent landslide, the path to La Grande Greve remains closed until further notice. Further information will be released as it becomes available.

Grande Greve is Sark’s most popular bay, particularly for families who want to enjoy the golden sand at low-tide and caves and rock pools for children to explore. It is accessed using the 328 steps and the zig-zag path surrounded by beautiful flowers and bushes. At the top of the bay, there is the famous Coupee which is a narrow isthmus giving access to Little Sark.
Grande Greve is well used by the British and French boats wishing to anchor.

"Grande Greve, which is one of the most popular bathes in Sark. It is a perfectly sandy bay with plenty of space and it can be approached quite easily by the Ladder Steps from La Vermondaye. Many people, however, prefer the short cut downby the Coupee, although the path there is very crumbly, especially at the bottom, but one can slide down if one's pants are suitable for that form of transportation. To enjoy your bathe here one should arrange to arrive at half tide down and also take a picnic lunch or tea"
